About Chuck and Maty

We are honored to welcome two of the most extraordinary Ashtanga Yoga Teachers at our studio in Berlin.

Maty Ezraty was the original founder of Yoga Works in Santa Monica California and directed the Teacher Training Program there for over 16 years. She has studied with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois several times in India and on his tours.

Chuck Miller has been practicing yoga earnestly since 1971 and finally learned Ashtanga Yoga from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 1980. Studies with Pattabhi include numerous extended and familial encounters in America and nearly 2 years during 7 trips to Mysore, South India.

The Teacher Training 2011

Chuck and Maty will teach a very intensive month long program from August 5^th to August 31^st.

Be prepared for 6 days per week of practice and intense study of the fundamental principles of Yoga as well as teaching methodology.
The course will cover all fundamental aspects of the Yoga practices including Asana, Pranayama and Meditation.

The philosophical foundations of the various traditions of Yoga will be discussed as well as the anatomical and theraputical aspects of the Hatha Yoga method.

Last but not least a daily meditation and Mysore style Asana practice with Chuck and Maty will be part of this training.

Schedule

The course covers 4 full weeks, five and a half days per week plus additional homework and reading.

Tuesday afternoon is off and the whole Thursday.

Registration, Pricing and Payment information

To join the training you are kindly requested to provide some information on your background, your practice, prior teaching experience (not required) and your main teachers (and if you have practiced with Chuck and Maty before) by email.
This "application" will be reviewed and answered promptly.

The price for full the teacher training course is €2350.

There are no general discounts for certain groups (like students or so), because no status determines if someone is rich or poor. If you can't afford the full workshop price please let us know with your application how much you can afford. We'd love to make things possible for you, but for now we can only put you on a waiting list and in review your application with Chuck and Maty in March/April.

You are required to pay the deposit of €500 to complete the registration. Your place is not secured until you have transferred the deposit.
This deposit is not refundable unless you provide a substitute for your spot.

The remaining amount has to be paid by June 1^st. If you do not pay by that date your spot can be given to another person without any further notice and your deposit will not be refunded. Please note that date!

Payments can made via direct bank deposit or PayPal.

All transaction fees must be covered by the participant.
There should be no transaction fee if you transfer money from a European bank account using the IBAN/BIC method (by European law).
The fees for transactions from other countries vary a lot (!) from bank to bank.
Please check them beforehand.
PayPal charges ~ 4% of the amount.

Payment and Cancellation

Registration

To register for our workshops you'll need to send us an email with your full name.
After our confirmation of your place you are required to pay the workshop fee in cash or by bank transfer within 14 days.
If not stated otherwise the full tuition has to be paid to secure your place at the workshop.

Please make sure to reserve these dates.
Registrations, cancellations, reimbursements etc. cause work, therefore service fees will occur as stated below.

Cancellation

If you find a substitute (who has not yet registered with us) the service fee for a cancellation is 10% of the full tuition.
Otherwise, the service fee depends on the date of your cancellation:
42 or more days before the workshop: 20% of the total tuition.
21 or more days before the workshop: 50% of the total tuition.
The full amount has to paid after that date.

It is not possible to stay in the studio for such a long time.
Yet as always we'll do our best to help you find an inexpensive accomodation option for the time of your stay in Berlin. Please let us know if you need help with finding a place.

We are going to ask our friends and students if they they would be renting out their apartments or rooms or whatever sort of bed to participants of the training.

Please contact us If you can offer a place to stay or look for a room or flat mate.

We will be setting up up some communication platform to find offers and people to share a sublet with etc.

Please note that we try our best to find decent places but we cannot guarantee that the places are absolutely perfect for everyones preferences. If you tend to be picky about things please find your own place (we have had our experiences in the past, sorry :-)).
This task - as well as providing daily breakfast for everybody - has been a lot (!) of extra work (and sometimes a hassle) for us in the past, But we are happy doing these things if we are paid in smiles :-)
